This traditional form of folk art/decorative painting encompasses a wide range of specialist techniques.  These have evolved over the centuries and can be seen in the different styles from various nations, including;

• English Narrow Boat Painting
• Norwegian Rosemaling
• Hindeloopen
• French Tole
• Zhostova Florals

More modern styles may have replaced some of the designs, but the traditional methods still remain and can be seen in the use of the strokework, blending and finishing and the Jo Sonja range was originally created for this purpose.
